GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone-Releasing Peptide 2) Mechanism of Action
GHRP-2 is a man-made version of ghrelin. Ghrelin is famous for its role in increasing hunger and appetite. Additionally, it triggers the release of growth hormone by binding to the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R). Growth Hormone-Releasing Peptide-2 has similar effects on GHS-R. The precise mechanism of GH release following GHSR stimulation remains unclear. Nonetheless, research indicates that it affects the pituitary gland, the hypothalamus, and both GHRH and somatostatin directly.
